In the last years, Maria Vich has become a referent of the pictorial art in Mallorca. In 2021 she was named "favourite daughter of Felanitx". At an early age she entered the School of Arts and Crafts in Palma. After a few years and in order to improve her training, she moved to the peninsula to study at the Escuela de Bellas Artes in Barcelona. He continued at the Grand Chaumière in Paris. And finally she returned to Mallorca, where she came into contact with the artist Tito Cittadini to receive his master classes. With all this, the artist, with her realistic, symbolist and to a certain degree naïf painting, with landscape and genre themes, achieves local recognition and the recognition of all the galleries in Mallorca as well as in Barcelona, where she exhibits twice, in the Mayte Murïoz Gallery (Barcelona, 1977) and in the Kreisler Gallery (Barcelona, 1993). María Vich, in the 90's, has become a great reference for all Mallorcans, and in 1996, she showed it and gave 218 paintings to the Barceló Foundation for its patrimonial art gallery. Nowadays there are more than 300 of them and they are permanently exhibited in the rooms of the Centre d'Art i Cultura de Felanitx.
