In this sculptural piece in bronze, from the nineteenth century period, a kind of homage to the arts, specifically sculpture, is displayed. The artist, whose attire resembles that of a Renaissance intellectual, wearing short breeches and a doublet embroidered with lace, examines with great concentration the head of a statue he is carving. He holds a chisel and hammer in his hands, and at his side a small sculpture stands on a tall column-shaped base. Books and folders are scattered on the floor of his studio. The workmanship of the whole is realistic, adhering to classicism.
