Round sculpture made in stone. The work represents the figure of a seated gorilla, holding a baby on its lap. Both the shapes in the finish of the piece and the white colour of the piece give it an aesthetic of a synthetic character. It is as if the artist was trying to express a symbolic representation of the animal, instead of focusing his attention on the detailed description of the forms. An example of this is the way in which the animal's face has been portrayed.
