Acrylic on canvas in which the artist has captured a dynamic and vibrant scene achieved through color and the way it has been applied. The scene features a soldier who holds his rifle in his hands and due to his body position seems to be fleeing, thus approaching the viewer.
Carlos Salazar Arenas is currently teaching Plastic Arts at the National University of Colombia, as he has higher studies in Aesthetics and Art History at the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University. He has exhibited his work individually both locally and internationally, highlighting Colombia, Spain and the United States. His artistic work shows a great interest in drawing, painting and graphic work, fields in which he has carried out a process of research and technical exploration. Today his works are divided in different private collections located in different parts of the world. In addition, he also has an artistic presence in public collections, among them the Banco de la República de Colombia, Museo de Arte Moderno de Bogotá (MAMBO), Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores de Colombia, Banco BBVA de Colombia and the Artmadrid collection.
