Gatchaman is an anime about the adventures of five young people defending Earth from threats from Outer Space. It was produced by Tatsunoko Production and aired in Japan in October 1972. It consisted of 105 episodes, with whose footage several adaptations have been made in the West, such as The Battle of the Planets (known as G-Command), G-Force and War Between Planets. In Japan, following the success of Gatchaman, two sequels were produced: Gatchaman II and Gatchaman F; both have also been broadcast in other countries, and in particular, the US distributor Saban combined episodes from both to produce a new adaptation: Eagle Riders (Eagle Commando), broadcast in several countries.
